I have known a few gay/lesbian people in my days - not a lot - and I'm not claiming any kinship or special understanding, all I'm saying is - what consenting adults do is their business - not mine. And to me - this is an issue of almost no difference to being a rascist. Sure - people can't change whether they are black or white, and maybe the whole idea of sexual preference is open to some flexibility. Now I don't like to be call people names, but that sure is a bigoted thing of that person to say. But enough of the anger - there has got to be a way to engage people in a way so that we can all learn to become more accepting - any ideas pals?
(Disclaimer - I don't wanna hear any jokes about John Edwards being called a 'piece of wood' - ok, maybe I do, puns are fun, and someone's gotten lighten the mood with a bit of humour!)
You should YouTube Ann Coulter and Canada and hear her views on North of the 49th parallel . Buddy of mine at work showed me some clips of her. Apparently according to her we were in Vietnam. She was complaining about how we're not in Iraq. Well one of the reasons that you can be in Iraq and plan to send more is because we're in Afganistan, and in the trouble zones, where the rest of NATO doesn't want to go. Well some Yankees are there and they got the high score this weekend.
I'm not sure you can really take anything Ann Coulter says seriously. She's really more of a caricature than an actual human being at this point.
And really, the only way she can get attention any more is by crossing the line and saying things that are just plain evil, which is great because it can only serve to drive people away from her hateful and ignorant viewpoints. We should all just go back to ignoring her.
