Serendipity? Or just another point where life just works out as it always should - if you stop and notice that it always does........ just follow the flow...

So, I was joggin to work yesterday - and I happenned to run by a *huge* tree stump on the way - - really -it was wide... and I thought to myself,
"Why did this tree get cut down? Why would this happen? Who did this? What's going on?"
Now - I've been getting more an more angry by the day at the way things seem to work in this city - I don't know, and I'm no expert, and I guess there most likely was a good reason for the tree being removed - ie it was diseased or sick and couldn't get better, or it was already dead... but I was curious - I haven't seen this happen - EVER, in my whole life here in the Peg, and so I was curious for some answers... all I could do was take some photos to remind myself to look into it all....
...
......
........
So after work, I was jogging home... and I saw a pencil - perfectly good and usuable, in my path, on the grassy boulevard (I run on the grass b/c I figure it is better for my joints than the sidewalk - no Mary Jane innuendos intended)... and I had to stop, and think - should I leave this pencil here, or take it home? I could always use a pencil - than again - maybe someone needs it more than me - I already have a few... But I picked it up, not too sure why other than that I felt that I would need it sometime in the future - heck - who knows when the ink will dry up and you need some graphite/lead? Well, on I jogged, and surprise surprise, there was another stump... same style cut job, different tree - musta been the same perpetrators.... So, I decided, "Might as well put my question in a place where others can be inspired to wonder the same thing!" And so, on goes that thought - to you my bloggin friends -
Who Took the Tree?

I'm a big video game nerd, but I've never really gotten into the whole console wars thing. All I know is Microsoft and Sony are getting into the high specs war, trying to make the best graphics possible, because presumably, good graphics = good games, while Nintendo is off making games that are fun, while not wholly realistic.

The thing about Nintendo, is that it relies on innovation to make its games fun. The thing about innovation is that sometimes it takes a bit to get used to. The Nintendo DS was one instance of innovation that seemed strange, but turned out to be a lot of fun. It's currently beating the pants off the competition: the Playstation Portable. Although innovation has not always worked out well for them.

Now, the "next gen" system that Nintendo was coming out with was called the Revolution. This system is going to be able to play brand new games as well as give users the ability to download old games from their past systems. Now Bayou Billy has a brand new platform.

The controller has a gyroscopic thingamadoodle which allows control on the screen just by waving the controller back and forth. This was Nintendo's new innovation. This was their revolution.

Until this. Why would they change the name to that anyway. Maybe it was too similar to XBox's 360. I read the reasons posted on their website but it seemed like pretentious bullshit. And believe me, in my faculty we get our fair share of pretentious bullshit.

Guess What Today is?

If you don't know ask Mr. Lister. I'm pretty sure he knows that today is.

I am successfully the geekiest person in my circle of friends with a score of 37% geekiness (Major Geek- closest rival 32%). Although it gives me a certain sense of pride, I have a sneaking suspicion that my geekiness pales in comparison to a few individuals (who will remain nameless). To put me to shame, take the test and report back www.innergeek.us/geek-test.html ... If you DARE!!!!! (that's a challenge).

Now... Everyone has certain places in the geography of where they grew up, which have a certain nostalgia/sentimental value for them... As I was cycling to work just the other day, I passed this tree in the park a block away from my house.... Now, this was always the biggest, and oldest tree in that park, and every spring, the area around it would flood and form a large puddleish lake... Well, this year the water receded sooner than in springs past, and thus, nah - that part doesn't matter - what does matter, is that I always always looked at this tree as I went past it - it is impossible not to stop and glance at it, and take a moment to revel in its beauty and magnificence, which really, is just a prelude to noticing all the wonderfull natural environment surrounding us every day! I love this time of spring! At first, everything is all brown and mucky and wet, but, soon enough, things warm up, the air gets cleaner, the sun shines brighter, and the trees wake up from their winter slumber and start to breathe and grow leaves!!! Leaves! I love leaves! Ok - on that note,
bye

Well, after thinking about it for a long time I finally decided on a tattoo. No one wins the prize cause it's of my own design. This is just a preliminary drawing but the final product is going to have a similar idea.

The meaning behind it is a bit indepth, but basically it represents my family. I'm pretty excited, and I think I'm going to wait until I go on course this summer to get it. I know all you old conservative farts are probably shaking your heads .. clucking your tongues, stroking your beards, and talking about what's to be done with these kids today. But it's too late, I've got the tattoo fever, and there's only one thing to be done about it ^_^.

I was walking in the hall of my barracks last week and I saw the most fascinating sock. I was in too much of a hurry to ask questions, but luckily someone was quick enough to grab a video camera.
