I'm a big video game nerd, but I've never really gotten into the whole console wars thing. All I know is Microsoft and Sony are getting into the high specs war, trying to make the best graphics possible, because presumably, good graphics = good games, while Nintendo is off making games that are fun, while not wholly realistic.

The thing about Nintendo, is that it relies on innovation to make its games fun. The thing about innovation is that sometimes it takes a bit to get used to. The Nintendo DS was one instance of innovation that seemed strange, but turned out to be a lot of fun. It's currently beating the pants off the competition: the Playstation Portable. Although innovation has not always worked out well for them.

Now, the "next gen" system that Nintendo was coming out with was called the Revolution. This system is going to be able to play brand new games as well as give users the ability to download old games from their past systems. Now Bayou Billy has a brand new platform.

The controller has a gyroscopic thingamadoodle which allows control on the screen just by waving the controller back and forth. This was Nintendo's new innovation. This was their revolution.

Until this. Why would they change the name to that anyway. Maybe it was too similar to XBox's 360. I read the reasons posted on their website but it seemed like pretentious bullshit. And believe me, in my faculty we get our fair share of pretentious bullshit.

I for one don't have a problem with the new name. E3 is on the horizon and all the innovative games will be on display and you won't care about the name.
From a marketing standpoint, I can already see all the things there are gonna do with those 'i'(s).
The new mascot if you will.

Nintendo released the name before E3 cuz they knew that there would be bitching, there always is. But all that bitching will stop at E3.
Besides, who cares about the name. Do you really care that it's called Gameboy. I know you have a playstation. That 2nd Nintendo was quite super.
Either way, I'll be calling that wicked little sucker, like it's older brethren, Nintendo.
