So much for the whole "Meat is murder" campaign.

Why do so many people lack common sense? Seriously. I understand you have a certain lifestyle but if it puts others at danger, especially people who depend on you for everything, you may have to sacrifice things.

Don't mind me, I am just in a sour mood. Must be these jolly ranchers.

Hey now, don't go hating on the vegans just because 2 of them are idiots. I'm not clear why they couldn't find anything other than apple juice and soy milk. Don't most babies eat tons of vegetable goop? I will make a great parent some day.

All too true. Soy milk and apple juice just seem like just at the fringe of the rich wonders of the vegan diet.

In any case.... don't forget the "milk is rape" part as well.... meat is murder would just be the vegeatarian adage.

I think Freeganism is really our best bet here.
Although, it seems to me that although they don't support the "man," they're not really doing a whole lot to improve the situation either. Even if you're dumpster-diving, it's still the evil system that put the food there for you to take.

And if they were Freegans they may never had the problem with their child dying. Chances are they'd be so malnourished they wouldn't conceive in the first place....

Sour Mood - Jolly Ranchers! Ha, what wit! You always make me crack a grin CuddlePup.
Well, from all accounts - these two should have better researched their vegan diet. It is a terrible thing that this happened. As someone who cooks for a living, I am always extra careful when thinking about vegetarian/vegan meals - you really have to be aware of the nutrients and proteins you are consuming, or missing out on. Fuck, Bean juice and apple juice really are not a complete diet!!! If anything comes of this, I hope that it is at least more of an awareness amongst healthcare providers, new parents, and the general public, that we need to re-examine our eating habits and guidelines, and do a better job of providing models for healthy eating - including variations which provide for how to avoid animal products, if one so chooses.
