Jurassic Park, here we come

Tuesday, September 27, 2005

Ah, alomost forgot.
Coppertone had the correct answer to my , ummm, quiz or some such.

Long time no chat, how you folks been doin'?
Oh yah!
That's awesome.

So I was hanging out with Coppertone the other night. We was looking for a place to eat, but that is another post at another time.
Anyways.
He was telling me about the theme for this years Architecture BBQ.
Superheroes.
The 2nd year gets to make up a superhero team with the 1st year being the sidekick.
I was thinking about it this afternoon and wished I was in the program.
I would have been the superhero known as:
Pak-Man
With his sidekick:
Jew Boy

Is it just me or doesn't "Twas nor a fortnight" look wrong.
Shouldn't it be "Twas not a fortnight".
It could just be me.
Either way I like the fact I got Kit Ro going to another site, thus keeping him up later, which in turn is causing him to lose sleep. Which means that more sleep deprived emails and posts will be sent.
{insert evil laugh here}
I'm watching Bones, I think I will continue to watch it. Has a very lovely cast.
Holy Cows!
Heavy D is on the show. And Crystal Method did the theme.
Neato.

Oh God Damn! - I was soo hungry, and made the mistake of checking out Slashfood's latest...

Pizza, oh where for art thou my beloved? Why doth my plaintive calls forth go unheardeth by your fair ear? Twas nor a fortnight ago I tasted your sweet romance upon my supple lips.... Why has thou forsaken me? The beauty of a builded structure holds no place in my heart next to yours - art thou wary of my proclomations of yore? Upon the Heavens and the Earths - twas your name that was upon my sleeping breaths last night was it nought? Art thou chosen to haunt me in dream alone?

Fair thee well then, as the unbeknownst cuckold doth not bite his thumb at the lover of his betrothed, I shalt not glare upon those who succulate at the teat of the ovens of your birth, greedily feasting in baccanlian orgy whilst I do not.

I've been back at school for 4 weeks now... which means that now I get to be all food science geeky - not to be mistaken for building/design porn geeky. I got to play with chocolate and make truffles, butterflies, and get cocoa overload - uh oh, I think I feel the withdrawl coming on! Other than that, me is me - Three months left of school! That is if I survive the boobytraps!

So, back at school now, which means I get to be all pretentious and talk about "aesthetics", "cantilevers" and "design intent". The difference between this year and last year is that I had several projects in my studio in which to spread my stress induced freak outs. This semester, I have one. One project. O-N-E. Worth 100% of my studio mark. Boo-urns.

The project, as I understand it right now, is to design a multi tenant dwelling in a transitional neighborhood in Winnipeg. For my group, we have the lovely location of Point Douglas, a stone's throw away from Higgins and Main (Or as Metronome would have it, a penny's throw away from the denizens of Higgins and Main). A project in the projects. Fun.

(Note: I realize that I'll have to avoid making such offensive jokes in the future of this assignment, so I thought that I'd spend this week mocking it so it'll be tired later.)

The other groups were doing some monastery in St Norbert, the Japanese Cultural Centre or the fields just south of Stony Mountain penitentiary. Unfortunately, I figure that ours will be the only group who has to worry about being stabbed on a site visit. (Well, the penitentiary group will have to watch for prison breaks, but that only happens ever couple weeks at stony mountain.)

Anyway, I'll have fun thinking of this assignment, and reading the highly offensive sample tenants that were on the project brief.

Arrrrrr Metis, Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day.

I'm CuddlePuppy, Stay classy.

I don't even wanna get into that controller. My excitement has been nullified until I get a chance to use it and even then, I ain't looking forward to it.

Neither is this fella. He gets hit the hardest with that bit of news. Maybe knowing that there will be multiple colours will ease his pain.
If not, there is always hoping that this comes true.
Anways.

We need some ethnic cleansing or genocide in Canada. Then maybe we can get something cool like this as well!

Ok. The bloody thing isn't all bad.

Nintendo's Revolution controller is out.

This should make people with a home theatre system very upset.

Hey dudes. So it's been a while since I've shared with all of you a snippet from the tales of tremendous excitement that constitute my life. Guess what? I've got a place to live (finally), I've got a cell phone (I gave in), I've got a job (sort of), I've got 2.4 kids and a mortgage (not at all).
I'm in a pleasant neighbourhood called Kitsilano, about 15 minutes from UBC via autobus, and about a 10 minute run to two different beaches. My room's in a basement again, which is maybe not the best thing in the world, but the rent is decent and the roommates do their own dishes (FREEDOM!!!!!) Plus if I so desire I can roam the rest of the house as well! I'm still trying to remember how to do this thing called cooking, which apparently is necessary to prevent me from a)dying, b)going broke, or c) both. On that note, Kit Ro (and any one else with culinary skills), better come visit soon, alright? I'm not sure these ramen noodles can stave off death for too much longer...
Started courses this week. Scary stuff. Nonlinear Optimization, and Numerical Methods for Solving Partial Differential Equations, kinda wish I actually had the pre-requisites for these things. Urg. Hopefully I'll find time to post again before the Xmas.
Xtopher out.

New Orleans?

Regardless... I don't know what you're all thinking, or what you feel, or if bringing this up is going to change ANYTHING... but maybe this place, and this place can help to make a difference...

If anyone has any other suggestions, please, for my sake at least, post them.
