Hey all; just discovered tonight that for sixty-two nations in our modern world (including Austria, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and the United States), war "as an instrument of foreign policy" is technically illegal according to international law.

Wow! Why didn't someone tell Captain Planet about this sooner?! Excuse me guys, I've got a lot of very important people to arrest.

Let's not be too hasty now. I think your jurisdiction ends at environmental destruction. Willful destruction of other humans is thoroughly outside your domain of influence, as much as you might abhor it.

You'll rue those words, ridikulos! I'll show you willful destruction of other humans!

Hey hey, as holder of the heart ring, Kit Ro asks "Why can't we all just get along?"

The article actually specifies instrument of "national policy" but even then, wouldn't some people get around that? Like threat or "imagined threat". That while war would not be an instrument in national policy it can be an instrument in national defense or international defense!
